Procedure
It is the process of chaining on plain ground was as follows
- Stations A and B where fixed and ranging rods where exacted at intermediate stations P and Q by ranging.
- Follow the chain roughly along the AP.
- Leader with 10 arrows and handle of chain in its hands moved along the chain.
- After reading near the end of chain the leader got instructions from the followers and the he stop in line AP.
- Leader made the chain straight with slow.
- Leader fixed the arrows at the end of chain.
- The leader took the chain in hand and started walking towards B and the follower moved in the direction of AP.
- On reading here the arrows the follower show chain so that the leader stopped moving.
- The procedure is repeated until further point B is reached.
