POLYALK POT-REP

Specially formulated polymer cement based grout formulation for pothole repair, it has several unique characteristics. Being a ready-mix dry powder it can be easily transported to any site and needs mixing with water only before use.

For example, the grout material, aggregates (in gunny bags) and water in plastic containers, along with labourers and their tools, including a bucket for mixing, can be carried in a one ton truck to the site of repair. At the first repair location only the requisite quantity of dry grout and other proportionate materials can be unloaded and used. Once the repair is completed, the truck can proceed further with the balance materials to the next location.

The material can be used even when there is rain, or in rainy season during dry spells. After repair, the repaired pothole will not be affected by in case of rain soon after. Within 4 hours the repaired mass attains approx. 15 MPa strength and this means that the traffic can resume thereafter with minimal interruptions.

The pothole gets repaired right upto the base with strong inter aggregate bonding and will be long lasting.

It will not be necessary to send any mechanical compacting equipment like rollers etc to site, as POLYALK POT-REP requires only manual packing.

The repaired mass is not affected by water but gains strength unlike outdated bituminous mixtures. These type of products are extensively used in coastal areas where there is heavy rainfall.

Instruction for Use

  • Clean the pothole of all loose material.

  • Shape it’s edges slope outwards from the top surface.

  • Try to make the depth atleast about 50 mm.

  • Place only the aggregate in the pothole, nearly to the top surface of the road.

  • Mix the dry grout with requisite water (12-13 Litres / bag of 25 kg) to obtain a liquid grout of flowable consistency. The mixing can be done in a bucket by hand (or mechanical mixer) till it attains uniform consistency.

  • Gently pour this grout into the pothole over the pre-placed aggregates so that it spreads uniformly to the top.

  • Cover the grouted pothole with a damp gunny bag. Leave for 4 hours in normal weather. Thereafter traffic may be allowed.

Yield

100 kg of the material yields approximately 50 litres of grout which can fill about 120 litres of Pothole along with aggregates.

Packing
