SINGLE SAMPLING PLAN

In this method, representative sample is drawn from the lot and the decision, whether to accept or reject the lot, is based on the result of that sample. A plan of this type requires three numbers to be specified.

The lot size (or the number of items in the lot) = N

The sample size (the number of sample size) = n

The acceptance number (the number of defective items allowable in the sample) = c

Rejected number = r

No sampling plan can give a complete protection against the acceptance of defective product. Single sampling calls for decision on acceptances or rejection of a lot on the basis of the evidence of one sample from that lot.
