Base coat for w.c. water-proofing

After stopping the leakage of the base slab, provide 25 mm to 40 mm (1” to 1’/2) thick cement mortar base coat in proportion of 1:4 with a slope of 1:100 from the entrance door towards the water escape pipe (drain pipe).

Carry out this base coat on all wall, up to a heights of 45 cm (1’6”) above toilet finished floor level. It should cover all beam tops, junction etc. properly. It should also be carried out upto the outer face wall for outlet pipe to join the P-trap to vertical stack.

Keep this base coat full with water upto the slab drop top, for minimum four days for curing and testing purpose.

After four days, get it checked and certified for proceeding with the further stages.

Water escape pipe

Provide 25 mm (1”) G.I./P.V.C. pipe for water escape outlet just above the base coat in w.c. (holes of such pipes should be made prior to the base coat)

Over this base coat, instruct the plumber to fit P-trap in the required level along with P.V.C./C.I. outlet pipe.
