The bedroom greatly affects
health, marriage and headboard against a wall, to ground your power. Avoid
mirrors opposite your bed or at the side of your bed. Mirrors opposite the bed
are known to attract a third party to the relationship and can lead to disturbed
sleep. Place the bed diagonally opposite the door, for added security and to
have a commanding view of the mouth of chi. This is the best position to
receive life-force energy as it enters the room.
1. The bedroom is the source for marital harmony
and balance. To enhance this to the fullest, place objects in pairs in the
bedroom, such as candle stands, vases etc. Avoid sleeping with your head
pointed towards the door of the bedroom because this creates a feeling of
uneasiness about who might be entering the room. Do not place the bed under
exposed beams. If it cannot be avoided, then hang a small mirror or crystal to
disperse energy. The space under the bed should be clutter-free to encourage
free flow of chi.
2. Plants enliven a space and encourage chi to congregate
and meander. Always use fresh or silk flowers. Get rid of any dried flowers
since they symbolize diminishing wealth. Spiky leaves generate “poison arrows”
choose round leafed varieties instead. Plants are cures for protruding corners
and exposed beams, which emit negative energy. Bonsai plants represent stunted
growth; avoid them inside or outside the home.
3. A bright room promotes good energy. Lighting
should not be too harsh, artificial or glaring. Wall lights and dimmer switches
are a good idea. Balancing light and darkness in the environment, improves feng
shui, adding a better sense of harmony and design. Enhance lighting with
mirrors to boost the energy in the home, increase opportunities and broaden
possibilities. While using candles, it is smart to use them throughout the
room. Use soft even lighting in the dining room, placing furniture under
sufficient light.
4. Colours create balance and every colour has a
unique vibration frequency representing the five elements. Pale yellows or
greens are perfect for the dining room. A red sofa can be the reason for heavy
work pressure and obstacles. Green stands for freshness, growth and peace,
ideal for a bedroom. Yellow signifies longevity. Dark blue may make you too
introspective. Overuse of white can deliver too much cold energy. Add pots of
colourful flowers and other touches of colour to offset this effect.
5. Improve feng shui in your home by moving your
furniture around, removing clutter, and making full use of ‘ cures’ such as plants, water, wind chimes,
colour, and crystal. Experiment with variations and modifications of ideas, to
find out what works for you. Let the furniture, colour and furnishings in your
home promote good health and fortune.
