SUNEXT-8
SUNEXT-8 is a 100% acrylic
emulsion exterior coating, which helps to achieve a more durable and long
lasting external surface. Due to specialized ingredients, it is useful in
providing carbonation protection to the exterior surfaces of the structure. It has
capacity to withstand extreme climatic changes like heavy rainfall, high
humidity and heat. It helps preventing the formation of fungus and algae. Exteriors
look freshly painted for years due to non fading pigments.
In general this is a dual
serving coating with aesthetics and performance. This is available as a single
components liquid, which can be very easily applied.
Uses
SUNEXT-8 is primarily meant for
protection of external surfaces against carbonation and similar environment
attacks. However its formulation makes it suitable for use even on steel
surfaces as a finishing coat where aesthetic appearance is required.
Properties
SUNEXT-8 coating basically
gives protection from water leakage’s or any damp spots without peeling and
cracking and without any formation of carbonation deposits resulting in fresh
look of the coating for years.
- This is offered in white colour and avoids any initial priming coat thus eliminating the additional expenditure of a priming coat and saves time too.
- It prevents formation of carbonation deposits on the surface thus also preserving the external surface and thereby increasing the total service life of the structure with reduced maintenance cost per year.
- Unlike cement based exterior paints, SUNEXT-8 coating resists the formation of algae, fungus etc. The exteriors look freshly painted for years.
- It is not affected by ultraviolet rays as it has U.V. Protection characteristics.
- It has a fairly good resistance to abrasion due to normal wear and tear.
Instruction for use
- Clean the surface to remove dirt, loose particles, flaking paints etc. and rub down to an original hard surface. In the case of steel surfaces all scales, rust and grease should be removed. The life and performance is directly dependent on the extent and quality of cleaning.
- Examine the surfaces closely for any cracks or openings. Fill them up properly using suitable crack filler like POLYFILL. For specialized crack filling use POLYALK EP mortar. (Refer to our Technical Cell for more details, if required)
- Open the container and stir well to attain uniform consistency.
- Mix one litre of SUNEXT-8 with 500 ml of portable water in a clean container.
- Apply the coating by brush, roller or spray.
- Depending on the requirement apply two or three coats with a minimum interval of 4-6 hours between successive coats.
Coverage
Average 16-18 sq.m. per litre
per coat. Actual coverage depends on the nature of the surface and the number
of coats.

1 ltr, 4 ltr and 20 ltr
Shelf life
Up to twelve months when stored
in tightly sealed containers. Store in a cool and dry place.
Performance
The application of SUNEXT-8
when carried out according to the specified instruction provides a surface,
which would last up to several years depending on the number of coats applied. Three
coats are generally recommended.
