POLYEXPANSE
POLYEXPANSE is a grout
material, when used does not shrink in the plastic state, and bonds permanently
to clean base plate. In order to be effective, a grout must be non-shrink in
the plastic condition and also dimensionally stable when hardened.
The free-flowing characteristic
of the grout and its cohesiveness make it the ideal choice for several
applications.
Uses
Wherever filling of voids is
required such as bolt holes, gaps between base-plate and concrete foundations
and other gaps or voids, POLYEXPANSE can be used.
Product
This is a specially formulated material
based on hydraulic binders and polymeric enhancers together with specially
selected aggregates. It is designed to result in efficient and long term
durable performance.
Advantages
It has high-early and ultimate
with non-shrinkage. The ingredients are time-tested and free from any
contaminates. The grout when hardened has excellent characteristics like
impermeability to water and oil. It will not corrode or affect any metallic
part it comes into contact with. Also it can be easily pumped.
Performance
The material starts chemically
reacting once water is added. The reaction is fast at first and then slows
down. Unlike ordinary concrete, the nature of ingredients of POLYEXPANSE render
the grout produced non-shrink and stable in the performing conditions.
Properties
18 to 19 litres of water per
100 kg of dry grout gives flowable consistency while 16 to 17 litres of water
gives highly plastic product.
Free expansion : 2 to 4 % in
plastic state.
Water absorption : Less than 2
percent.
Restrained expansion : 0-0.5 %
Strength : (Free flowing
consistency)
1D + 250 kgs/cm2
3D + 400 kgs/cm2
7D + 500 kgs/cm2
28D + 550 kgs/cm2
1 litre of grout will weigh 2.2
kgs
Instruction for use
·
Making the grout:
Clean the
mixer and wash it with water. Ensure the interior is damp but does not have
water pooled. Pour the required water into the mixer. Slowly add the grout
powder as the mixer is revolving. Continue mixing for 5 minutes till the mix
becomes uniform in consistency. The mix is ready for use now.
·
Preparation of bolt hole pocket, foundation etc.
It should
be ensured that there is no oil or any loose material.
Any form
that is to be removed should be lightly coated with form oil, after cleaning
the area with compressed air.
·
Grout Placement:
The grout
prepared as in (a) should be gradually introduced into the pockets. Where it is
expected to cover large areas, the movement of grout may be aided by chain or
other suitable arrangements. In case of machine foundations, suitable forms
which gives a head may be designed and used to aid the flow of the grout.
·
Curing:
Cover all
exposed areas with damp gunny bags, after the initial hardening has taken place.
·
Special precautions:
In hot-weather
or very cold weather, follow general practices used for normal concretes like
ice-cold water etc.
Packing
25 kg bags.
Shelf life
Six months when stored in
original closed pack.
