He should cheque the progress of work against the programme.
He has to measure the quantities of work executed and check day work, interim payment and final payment dues.
He has to ensure the safety of the workers and labour on the site.
He has to rearrange the design of the work suitably so as to accommodate it within the limit of powers delegated to him by the client.
He has to keep all the resident staff fully informed about the matters effecting their work, including copies of the required site instructions and correspondence.
He has to maintain certain standard of the discipline among the staff.
He should reasonably foresee the further difficulties and bottlenecks in the work and inform the client.
