How to calculate the quantity of tiles required for cladding or dado?

Door size = 1 m x 2.4 m

Window size = 1.2 m x 1.2 m

Perimeter of room

= 1 + 4 + 6 + 2 + 3 + 3 + 3

= 22 m

Height of dado tile work

= 2.4 m

Area of cladding or dado tile work

= 22 m  x  2.4 m

= 52.8 m2

Minus the door size

= 1 m  x 2.4 m

= 2.4 m2

Minus the window size

= 1.2 m x 1.2 m

= 1.44 m2

Total minus area

= 2.4 + 1.44

= 3.84 m2

Total area of dado tiles work = Area of cladding or dado tile work – Total minus area

= 52.8 – 3.84

= 48.96 m2

Area of one tile

= 0.3 m x 0.3 m

= 0.09 m2

Therefore,
Number of tiles required

= (48.96 / 0.09)

= 544 nos.

Consider 5% wastage

= 544 + [(5/100) x 544]

= 571.2 nos.

Say 572 nos.
