Scheduling

While planning various events of a project, it is necessary that the sequence in which the project is to be developed, is made known to everyone from the project administration to the site worker. Once the scheduling for resources is completed, it becomes easy to fix up the time and progress chart (Bar Chart) Later on, it also becomes to prepare network analysis in the form of Critical Path Method (CPM) flow diagram.

Advantages of preparing schedules are as follows:

  • Requirement of labour at different stages of construction work can be work out.

  • Phased recruitment or retrenchment can be planned and prepared.

  • It gives an exact idea about the working of plant equipment and machinery. As a result, no construction machinery remains idle.

  • Cost control study of the project at different stages can be reviewed on the basis of expenditure.

  • Programme or procurement of construction material can be prepared.

  • The requirement of funds at various stages of construction can be predicted.
