Setting out plan for a
residential building in a preparation of center line diagram. Marking the width
of excavation on the ground from the working drawing with the help of wooden
pegs, nails, string, tape and lime powder.
Application
Setting out plan for a
residential building is very important as it is not possible to start the work
to excavation for the foundation without setting a plan, if we start the work
without setting a plan not be in a proper diamensions.

Procedure
First step is to clear the site
from all types of debris and organic materials. After clearing the disturbance,
the proper scale should be selected for setting out residential building. Outer
boundaries of building is fixed with help of wooden batten and center line plan.
The building face is checked by right angle method with help of string. Generally
rectangle should be checked by diagonals. Rectangle should be marked by 3,4,5
or 9,12,15. The centre line pegs are marked and fixed the width of foundation is
marked with the help of plumb bob and lime powder.

1. The diagonals
should be equal for a rectangles and also be equal to its calculate value.
2. Lines should
be marked with the help of lime powder by stretching the sting tightly.
