·        What is ‘Polymer Cement Mortar’?

A mortar in general is a mixture of cement, sand and aggregate with requisite amount of water. To prepare polymer cement mortar mix 1 kg. polyalk EP 5 kgs. fresh cement, 15 kgs. Quartz Sand (graded). This is same as using 1 bag of cement (of 50 kgs); 10 kgs polyalk EP and 150 kgs of graded sand.

Fast dry mix cement and sand in a mixer. Separately mix polyalk EP with the requisite quantity of water. Then add this water polymer mix to the cement sand in a mixer and mix for 3 minutes at least. Use a mechanical mixer. The mortar is now ready for use.

·        What is Grout?

A grout is a mixture of Cement and Water in a definite proportion depending on the type of job where it has to be used.

·        What is Polymer Cement Grout?

Polymer Cement Grout (PCG) is prepared by using 1 kg Polyalk EP, 3 kgs, cement (fresh) and 2 kgs water. Mix Polyalk EP and Water first and add this to the cement using a mechanical mixer till slurry of uniform consistency is formed. This is now ready for use.

·        What should be the mix ratio to achieve efficient grouting?

To achieve efficient grouting the mix ratio is:
1 kg. Polyalk EP
3 kgs. Cement (fresh) OPC
2 kgs. Water

·        If water is scarce or not available how does one do curing?

If water is scarce or not available one can do curing by applying concrete curing compound Sunpolicure SS on freshly de-shuttered concrete surface or fairly hardened plaster. After Sunpolicure is applied there is no need to wet concrete externally as a part of water curing.

·        How does the deteriorated external plaster effect the interiors of flats?

Dismantle the external plaster, clean the surface of all loose particles etc. and moisten the surface with water.

Apply 1st coat of plaster 1:4 Cement Mortar with addition of 1.5 kg. Polyalk WP and 250 mls. of Sunpolicrete NGT per bag of cement.

Apply second coat of plaster in 1:4 Cement Mortar with addition of 250 mls. Sunpolicrete NGT per bag of cement.

Cure the plaster as usual.
