External plastering quantity
Plastering for second floor.
= 11.60+ 9.80 + 10.80 + 4.5 + 2.9 + 2.3 + 4.2 + 2.3
= 48.4 m x 64 m ……..( 64 meter is the height of building upto 2nd floor)
= 309.76 m2 ……..(square meter)
Deduction for actual area of plastering
Total area of plastering = total area of wall – number of openings
= 309.76 – (1.20 x 1.20) x 12 ……..(deduct window size)
= 309.76 – (17.28 x 2) ………..(for 2nd floor)
= 309.76 – 34.56
= 275.2 m2 ……(square meter)
= 275.2 – [(0.75 x 0.90) x 4 + (1.20 x 1.20) x 4] …….(deduct ventilation)
= 275.2 – (2.7 + 5.76)
= 275.2 – (8.46 x 2) ………( 2 nos. of ventilation)
= 275.2 – 16.92
= 258.28 m2 …..(square meter)
Plaster mortar proportion ( 1 : 4 )
Plastering thickness = 20 mm
Volume of plaster = area of wall x thickness of plaster
Volume of plaster = 258.28 x (20/1000)
Volume of plaster = 5.16 m3 ….(cubic meter)
30 % extra wet mortar is required for filling up joints in masonary and uneven surface.
Therefore, volume of mortar = 5.16 + [5.16 x (30/100)]
Volume of mortar = 6.70 m3 ….(cubic meter)
Dry volume is 25 % more than wet volume
Therefore, dry volume required = 6.70 + [6.70 x (25/100)]
Dry volume = 8.37 m3 …….(cubic meter)
Cement required
= 8.37 / 5
= 1.67 m3 x 30 bags
= 51 bags
Sand required
= 8.37 x 4
= 33.48 m3
= 33.48 / 2.83 ……….(convert in brass)
= 11.83 say 12 brass
