Rainwater pipes should not be connected to drainage stacks/drainage lines.

Minimum earth cushion to pipeline is 90 cm.

Minimum depth of water seal in trap is 40 mm.

Quality of rainwater pipes and drainage pipes is different and should not be altered.

P.V.C. pipe cutting should be done only by using farma (batch) template.

P.V.C. and C.I. joints require a rough surface which can be created with fine sand and P.V.C. solution.

Vent cowl is fixed at a minimum of 90 cm (3”) height above the roof slab.

In P.V.C. provision of joining is perfect, whereas there is more space available to allow cement joining in C.I. pipes.

R.C.C. hume pipe N.P. is used specially for road crossing or below a vehicular road.

Outflow of chamber should have 25 mm (1”) drop than in flow of chamber.

Joints of sewer pipes should be plugged with cotton yarn (packing rassi), before applying cement slurry over joints.

Last pipe of vertical stack joining gully trap/chamber should be of C.I. in case of P.V.C./A.C. pipeline.
